We built Kundasang Homestay to change that. Every property on our platform is verified by our local team before it goes live. Every payment goes through CHIP, using FPX — Malaysia's online banking network.
We are not a foreign tech company. We are locals who love Kundasang and want both travelers and hosts to thrive safely.

Built-In Trust & Safety
What "Verified" means: We verified everything carefully by matching their documents, and confirmed their identity against their national ID.
It does not mean we own or operate the property — every homestay is independently owned and run by its host.
IC Verification
Every host submits a watermarked national ID. Our local team cross-checks identity before any listing goes live, and the IC image is deleted once the listing is approved.
Payments Held Until Check-in
All payments route through CHIP using FPX. Funds are held by the platform and released to the host within 1–2 business days after the guest's check-in is confirmed — not before.
Live Availability Calendar
Every booking updates our calendar instantly. What you see here is what's available on our platform. (Hosts also sell elsewhere — if you have a specific date in mind, message the host to double-confirm.)
Direct WhatsApp Contact
After every booking, the guest can reach the host directly via WhatsApp for arrival details, questions, and check-in coordination.
Encrypted Passwords
Account passwords are hashed with PBKDF2-SHA256 (100,000 iterations) plus a per-user salt and a server-side pepper. Raw passwords are never stored.
XSS & Injection Protection
User input is sanitised in two layers: on the client before anything is rendered, and again on the server before anything is stored. Neither layer trusts the other.
